Daniela

Age: 36

Lost: 86 pounds

I grew up on a ski resort and was lucky enough to have a very active lifestyle back then – skiing, skating, and dance were all part of my routine. The skiing unfortunately led to an accident and subsequent knee operation which left me immobile for awhile. This, in combination with a ramp-up of my career caused my weight to spiral out of control. Things actually came down to that “one moment” people speak of when they look in the mirror and wonder how this all happened.

I knew almost immediately that this program would work for me due to its comprehensive structure – the trainer, dietician, doctor, and counselor combination made it hard not to succeed. I actually learned how to exercise; I had never gone to the gym before because the machines were so intimidating.

My personal life includes activity and exercise regularly now. My husband and I actually completed a nineteen mile bike ride last week and we play tennis regularly. Exercise is fun again, just like it was when I was a kid. We had an offsite function for work recently where we played dodge ball and I could actually run after the ball!

Speaking of work, my productivity has definitely increased, which is largely in part to my increased energy and confidence. I am now confident, focused, and handle stress more effectively. My target goal is to lose 100 pounds…only a few more to go!

Biking is just one of the fitness activities that I have grown to love. Just recently I completed a nineteen mile ride with my husband.

Daniela's Healthy Tips

  • Just remember you are doing this for yourself - You will only get out of it what you put into it.
  • Keep doing what you learned in the program even when it is completed. It is a program for life.
  • If you slip on the food, don't give up, tomorrow is a new day and an opportunity to correct your mistakes. Stick to the meal tracking! I continue to meal track every day, it has just become part of my daily regimen.
