Latha

Age: 33

Lost 50 pounds (and more than 26 inches)

After having a baby, I ended up 70 pounds overweight. What made it even harder was the fact that I couldn’t do the daily activities of a healthy person my age. I’d tire quickly, had knee and heel pain, and was hungry most of the day. Also worrisome was my family history. My mother had developed diabetes and high blood pressure from excessive weight, and I didn’t want to go down that path. I knew that to avoid all the health risks and complications, I needed to join 20/20 Lifestyles to regain control of my health.

20/20 Lifestyles turned out to be much more than just an improvement in my health. Yes, I learned how to gain control over my body and habits, and improved my strength considerably for daily activities. But the knowledge that I gained was invaluable and it has literally changed my life.

My dietitian educated and guided me towards healthy eating, enabling me to stay in control. She explained the why’s and how’s of the foods I consumed rather than telling me which foods to eat. This helped me lose weight and stay healthy in the long-term. My personal trainer also worked hand-in-hand with me in planning and designing achievable workouts, which perfectly fit my body nature and strength abilities. She’d reevaluate and redesign my workouts as I improved in strength, motivating me even further.

The 20/20 Lifestyles program helped me to change my lifestyle in the most positive way. It wasn’t just a weight loss program, but rather a lifestyle change program, one that I’ve been able to sustain and feel good about.

“The program taught me how to gain control over my body and habits and improve strength to keep going every day. ”

Latha's Healthy Tips

  • Once you understand how and why the foods you eat affect you, physically and mentally, you’re much more in control of your eating habits.
  • Work with your personal trainer to develop a fitness routine that you know you’ll stick with, and change it up as your strength improves.
